Week #37

What up everybody!
I had another pretty good week!Tuesday was Zone Confrence and interviews! It was crazy because it was Presidents first time doing interviews. They were SOOOO long like 45 minutes each!  We didn't get outta Paris until like 9pm!  We were on an exchange. I was with my homie Elder Johnson, but by the time we got home we didn't have anytime to do anything!

Wednesday I was still with Elder Johnson, but just until around 2pm ish then they headed back home to Troyes.  We left and went to Paris to have another exchange with the Elders in a ville called Meaux. But they live in the Paris region. They live 45 minutes away from their sector which is really weird! I was with a kid named Elder Lattin. We went porting and taught a pretty cool lady.

Thursday we were still with Meaux. That ville needs a lot of work done! BUT Disneyland Paris is actually in that sector so I got to see Disneyland. It was super cool, I felt like I was in California! After that we just went back home!

Friday was a long day. We ate at the Judas for lunch and it was super good! Then had a meeting with the branch. After that it was just a long day of contacting and porting and a whole lotta NOs.

Saturday we finally got to see Tsiry. We made a pretty sweet book for her and bought her a tripdict, she was pretty happy! We taught her about learning and teaching in the church because she'll probably be getting a calling soon haha. Then we just went contacting!

Sunday was crazy. So both the priesthood holders in our branch were on vacation with their wives and other members. So the only people who came to churchwas Tsiry and her kids and 3 other members. And some less actvies came. It was crazy we presided, blessed, passed, talked, taught and everything else you can possibly imagine! But surprisingly it all went well! Then we all ate together. After we tried finding less actives. Then just went porting in a little ville and all the people were so nice it was awesome!
Thanks so much guys for the emails, love you guys!!!!!

 Week #36
Tsiry's baptism

Hi everyone,
This week was sooooo busy, but it was a super fun week!Tuesday we had exchanges with the Elders in Paris. I was with this cool Tahitian kid named Elder Utiah. He is training right now, so he was very happy to get a break. We were able to have a great exchange. We got to see the side of Paris that not very many people get to see. We went to neighborhoods (suburbs) and cool Parisian housing. We ate at a members house, they were really nice. It really made me miss being in a ward though!

Wednesday we were still on exchanges. We just went contacting in Paris, it was really fun! A lot different than Auxerre about 14,894,653,489 more people! Met some Americans as well. That was a nice refresher because the whole exchange we were speaking french only. Elder Dayley accidentally forgot to give the Paris Elders there phone back at the end of the exchange, so we had to go back to their apartment and give it back to them...and it took forever! But it all got worked out in the end, we got home at like 10h30

Thursday was busy. We went to the Judas house and ate with Tsiry, her kids and some choice members of the branch again. After dinner we taught the whole team why it's important to have a testimony of the Book of Mormon. Then we gave a blessing to a member. We give blessings a lot here. Then we went and taught some lessons after.

Friday we had an exchange with the Zone Leaders so I was on my best behavior;) I was with a kid from Quebec (which is French speaking Canada) so another 2 days of French only...so by the end of the week you could say I was FRENCH FRIED hehehe lol. Hopefully I haven't already used that joke. Running out of material here. Tsiry had a baptismal interview. SHE PASSED! Wooo Hoo!  But yeah it was a good hard working exchange!

Saturday finished up the exchange, then it was just GO GO GO the rest of the day! We had to do everything for Tsiry's baptism, and we had to shop for the week, weekly plan, and we had random RDVs throughout the day too! It doesn't sound busy, but it was!

Sunday was awesome! We had another baptism here in good ole' Auxerre! This place is on fire right now. A lot of people came to church as well. After we drove to Troyes. I drove Elder Dayley and me.  It's like a 2 hour drive, it was pretty crazy! Every thing with the baptism went over really well! I asked if Elder Watts would baptize here because he is at the end of his mission and he hasn't seen a baptism yet. And he has helped teach her a couple of times while he was on exchanges with us. He was with me when we found her, so it was a really cool experience for him and us too! I drove home in the craziest rain storm I have ever seen. It was super sketchy! Then we just went home and went contacting. I love you all! Thanks for all of your support.
Love,
Elder Beck

Week #35
New companion
Hey everyone,
I had a super good week! Tuesday was Elder Bayers last day in Auxerre. The Judas family invited us over to eat with other choice members in the branch. They made us really good food. We ate fish! First time on my mission! After we watched Ephraims Rescue. Then that night  we went to Marcs house and gave him a NY hat, and he loved it!

Wednesday I said good bye to Elder Bayer, then picked up my new companion in Paris. It was super cool getting to see all the missionaries. My new comp. Elder Dayley is from Highland Utah and he is a super nice kid. That night me and Elder Dayley found a new ami on the train ride home to Auxerre. Got home and went porting and prayed to find what ville we should go to. We went to a small town called Appoingny and I got let in porting for the first time in France!!!!! We taught a lady with a family. She has a little 9 year old boy and a 7 year old girl and they are really cute! Also we taught Tsiry that day and had to re fix her baptisimal date because the ZLs didn't have enough time to interview her.

Thursday we went contacting and taught a guy on the road. Then we had a branch meeting. The branch was really happy to meet the new guy! Then we tried contacting a guy who lived really far away, but he didn't live there anymore so we contacted in a really small, pretty tiny ville. Went porting at the Appoingny place again but didn't find anybody.

Friday we got some really good kebabs. Did a long session of transfer planning. The people in the office goofed up and had us try something with our phone which ended up just breaking it! So we didn't have a phone for like 5 hours until they figured out how to fix it. Then we picked up food from a recent converts house. It was African food so it was so different from what I'm used to. We watched Saratov Approach at the night time.

Saturday we went contacting in the morning and got cancelled on 2 times that day. We went to Tsirys house and went over the baptismal questions. We watched the Joseph Smith movie. Then I had a feeling to try and go see Dunez. We called and he didn't answer. So I kinda gave up, but still had the feeling. So we went over to his house, he let us in and we wasn't doing good at all. Like super sick so we gave him a blessing!  Then I found out why the Lord wanted me to go over there! Then I cut Elder Dayleys hair.

Sunday was awesome. We went to church. And guess what.. we had 21 people at church. Dats right. 21. That's like almost a ward right ;). We had some help from memebers, but still. That's a lot, we had to find more chairs haha. Tsiry brought her kids. It was awesome. Church was good though. Me and Elder Dayley taught 15 lessons this week! Which is really abnormal for the first week. We taught that family on Sunday that we found porting her name is Veronique taught her the first lesson. We went contacting and they were setting up for a firework show. They were blaring M83, it made my day.  That night time there was a giant fire work show because its Frances version of the 4th of July today! So yep  that's my week. Church is true. Amen

Week # 34

Met President and Sister Babin

Hey people,
I think this one is going to have to be a quickie. Kinda running outta time. Ok for starters today was transfers. Im staying here BUT I'm getting a new companion his name is Elder Dayley. I don't know anything about him so we will see how this goes. I pick him up on Wednesday in Paris.

Last Monday after Pday we taught my favorite family the Lipowiez. They made us a suuuuper good dinner and gave all the leftovers! His job is a butcher and the meat was so good. It was an actual real BBQ! And we played badminton.

Tuesday taught a less active lady and I had to translate a talk into French.

Wednesday was a pretty awkward day at first. We had to contact a referral. Later we drove to the Judas house and we ate lunch with them and our ami Tsiry and her two little boys. It was super fun and we ate Chinese food. After we walked their dog. We taught Tsiry the Law of Chastity and The Word of Wisdom she didn't have a problem with any of them!

Thursday we went and contacted then we had to weekly plan. We contacted and literally that's about it. Oh yeah we visited a less active named Marc.

Friday it was Merica day. It was the best day of the week! We got to meet President and Sister Babin! They are really really cool people. They talked about how your attitude changes the altitude of your mission. The meeting was catered by KFC! And it was really good! We were interviewed as well by President and Sister Babin it was good, they interviewed us as a companionship.  After that France lost to Germany in the world cup and everyone here is really sad about that.

Saturday we taught a new ami we found name Dunez. He is french and really smart. Solid ami and he came to church this week! After played soccer with Marc.

Sunday it started off so funny. Church didnt start until 10h15!!! Everyone came late!! it was so funny and kinda scary we thought it was day light savings. It was fast Sunday and Elder Bayer's last Sunday here. We all ate together as a branch and went up to a hill and prayed. They do that every fast sunday. We taught Dunez. Also we taught Tsiry tithing and fasting and all that fun stuff. K iI gotta go now, but I
I love you guys have a good week!
